Schneider Electric has launched the latest version of its award-winning EcoStruxure Power SCADA Operation software, designed to provide real-time vision and control of power systems.
The software is engineered to help power-critical facilities like data centers, hospitals and airports maximize their uptime, said Schneider Electric vice-president for partner projects and power solutions Farokh Ghadially.
“It’s a SCADA system uniquely designed for large electrical distribution applications,” Ghadially said. “It has built-in architectural redundancy for the peace of mind that your network remains reliable even if a worst-case scenario occurs.”
Power quality issues can cause costly outages while operations and maintenance costs can represent as much as 80% of the total lifecycle cost over a 50-year period, the company says. When connected in a system that includes power quality meters the EcoStruxure Power SCADA Operation software performs millisecond power events analysis to determine electrical root causes and sequence of events analysis.
“PSO helps [business managers] protect their people and assets, optimize their business continuity, maximize operational efficiency and simplify their reporting and compliance,” Ghadially said.
