SITU (Sistema Inteligente de Telemetría Unificado), which in English means Unified Telemetry Intelligent System, is the tailor made solution in Argentina, that Pan American Energy chose to meet the complex requirements of multi-site supervisions with multiple technologies to unify information and fulfill multiple needs. SITU aims to monitor, sort, store and manage site supervised information clearly and safely for an easy and fast delivery, an operation added value. With more than 3,200 supervised sites, and 600,000+ real time variables and 250,000 non-real time variables (Historian Tags), this is undoubtedly one of the largest SCADA systems in the country.
High availability and performance hardware is used (20+ SCADA servers, 18 DCS servers, 61 end-user workstations for field monitoring, and more than a hundred of Panel PC installed on Batteries an Salty Water Inject Plants for local operation). The operation and management graphic interfaces are based on universal clients -a concept developed for SITU- and web clients. SITU receives intelligence from 4,000 remote equipment distributed throughout the extensive field of operating facilities over 1,350 square miles (over one third of Puerto Rico land area). These remote equipment are from different vendors (Allen Bradley, Schneider, Koyo, Siemens) and technology (PLC, RTU and RPC).
Learn about how this SCADA system consults these remote modules to obtain information about the facilities, which fed with the know-how of the operators, provides a global vision of the field, improving the decision-making processes for the company.
